Granite Bay, Calif., September 18, 2003 - Chapeau, Inc. dba BluePoint Energy announced today that it has received final approval for UL listing of its proprietary Lean-One® 260 kW Combined Heat & Power Module for "Engine Generator for Co-Generation Use", #46XT; Standard 2200. The UL listing applies to the United States and Canada.
BluePoint CEO, Guy A. Archbold, commented, "We at BluePoint are very encouraged and proud to have received the coveted approval Standard 2200 for "Stationary Engine Generator Assemblies" from Underwriters Laboratories Inc., the leader in U.S. product safety testing and certification. Possessing UL certification greatly enhances our ability to work with local utilities and to comply with related regulations that govern interconnection requirements for the end user."
Archbold continued, "Underwriters Laboratories Inc. has tested products for public safety for more than a century. As such, we at BluePoint are very pleased to have received the certification for Standard 2200 in an industry in which such certification is not readily or necessarily obtained.
"We recognize UL certification as a key milestone in the validation process for our Lean-One® CHP Power Module, a process of critical importance, particularly in light of the potential impact of the dramatic power outages experienced earlier this summer as well as our recently announced $35 million partnership with Calim Private Equity, LLC."
