BluePoint Energy Announces Hiring of Three Senior West Coast Sales Professionals
Granite Bay, Calif., February 9, 2004 - Chapeau, Inc. dba BluePoint Energy announced today the hiring of three senior sales professionals to promote the Company's Lean-One® CHP Module product line to the energy industry's significant west coast distributed generation (DG) market. The three, Dwight Wells, John Baginski and Curtis Chesler, join BluePoint from DTE Energy Technologies, an unregulated subsidiary of DTE Energy (NYSE: DTE), where they served in similar capacities.
BluePoint CEO, Guy A. Archbold, commented, "I am exceptionally pleased to announce this very successful development in our planned commercial evolution. On the pathway to our current commercial presence, we have striven to promote our leading edge CHP package and emission technology not through the traditional promotional channels of advertising and industry exhibitions that can bankrupt an emerging technology before it ever becomes viable, but rather we have chosen to gain industry acceptance through what we believe really matters most at the end of the day; third-party endorsement through DG industry strategic alliances and partnerships with seasoned industry professionals committing their personal and professional future to our product and our vision. This day achieves a substantial part of that goal.
"All of our endorsements, alliances and employment hires to date have been based upon evaluation and due diligence of the current products available commercially from BluePoint and not sales promotion."
Archbold continued, "To date, we have been extremely fortunate to have solidified significant strategic alliances with such highly regarded entities as one of the largest gas utility companies in the world and the largest design engineering firm in the U.S. and the world. We have worked closely with the Environmental Protection Agency CHP partnership program, we have added an industry leader as President of our third-party ownership program, and we have received the coveted Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) approval (Standard 2200) for our 260kW Lean-One® CHP Module. In the past week alone, we have received a notice of proposed award and financial grant from the California Energy Commission Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) Program for the advancement of environmentally beneficial CHP integrated cooling and heating modules and we have now hired three of the most senior sales professionals in the DG industry in the country's dominant market of California.
"Dwight Wells, John Baginski, and Curtis Chesler are key industry professionals that know the market and the decision makers in the market better than anyone, and they know the calculus that drives the decision makers' investment decisions. For these three gentlemen to choose to promote the Lean-One® CHP Module product line over all other products and services in the marketplace is the finest endorsement of the Lean-One® technology that we could ever seek. Our systematic and incremental approach to full commercialization and market acceptance is now nearly complete.
"Consistent with the charter to provide superior service and to better enable timely product development upon which our Company was formed nearly three years ago, BluePoint has been successful in and remains committed to initiating, receiving, and closing significant partnerships and alliances with highly recognized industry leaders. To that end, we are evaluating additional strategic hires as well as alliance and partnership strategies that will hopefully be recognized as adding extraordinary value in the distributed generation industry; exemplified by advanced product technology, superior personnel and capital resources, prolific sales and distribution channels, third party own-and-operate options, and the industry standard for operations and maintenance capabilities nationwide."
