BluePoint Energy Teams with URS Corporation
-Responds to State of California Energy Conservation Services Solicitation-
El Dorado Hills, Calif., May 25, 2006 - Chapeau, Inc. dba BluePoint Energy announced today that it has teamed with URS Corporation (NYSE: URS) in responding to a request for qualifications (RFQ) solicited by the State of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) to provide energy conservation services to the 33 adult institutions and 7 juvenile justice facilities under the jurisdiction of the CDCR. The response was submitted by URS on behalf the 3-member team that also includes Robert Thomas Brown Company, a professional consulting organization. From the responses to the RFQ, the CDCR will establish a short list of submitters deemed most qualified to successfully deliver project management, quality management, engineering, design, construction, estimating and other energy conservation services as mandated to reduce CDCR's $81 million in electricity and natural gas purchases in fiscal 2005. Firms selected to the short list will be offered opportunities to provide energy conservation services for specified projects, the funding for which projects and the associated contracts will be provided through the Investor Owned Utilities Statewide Energy Efficiency Partnership Program. The CDCR expects to publicly announce the short list of approved entities in mid-June.
